I desperately needed a shoulder to cry on, and was prompted twice to contact a dear friend of mine who I haven't seen, or spoken to for a long time. I ignored the first prompting...true to form for me...always thinking I know better than God. Then the second prompting came and I did as I was told, contacted her.
It wasn't easy, satan put barriers in my path. First the phone number that was in my phone was disconnected, then I went to her house and she wasn't home. After that I decided to check her workplace but on the way there I was prompted, yet again, to look for her number in the LDS directory. Funny how I hadn't considered that in the first place. Any way, I was finally able to get a hold of her (she was on her way home from Utah) and we met up that evening and spent the rest of the night talking.
It was just what the doctor ordered. Her friendship was a soothing balm and my life has been blessed because of her sweet loving spirit.
Good friends are God's gift to us!
