Kitty Kitty Kitty
Hannah the kitty cat.
Cammie wanted to get a picture of Aleah in the bee costume Tayvri brought over for her to borrow, but Aleah refused to cooperate and would not look at the camera. In order to get her attention Cammie took the bowl of candy from her. The next pictures are of the tantrum that then ensued. Then out of frustration Cammie dumped the bowl of candy on her. She sweetened up real fast. Kitty Kitty KittyThe only other person in the family who was feeling Halloween spirit.

Luke popped the question and Tayvri Jo Clay said yes! We are still waiting on a wedding date, but looks like it will be a winter wedding.
Megan Warner asked grant to the Spring Fling Dance by making him his favorite S'mores Pie. It was really good, I have to get the recipe!
They went to Chrome in the Dome at Holt Arena in Pocatello for their day date and ate at Pizza Pie Cafe for dinner. Sounds like they had a good time. The car show must have made an impression on Grant because he dreamed of bullet bikes that night. Someone... we won't mention any names...hasn't been gathering eggs regularly. And now my hens are pecking their eggs! I can't tell you how grumpy that makes me.
I was in Wal-Mart the other day and found fake eggs that are paintable in the Easter section. I bought two dozen of them and the delinquent egg gatherer is helping me paint them brown, blue and green. I can't help myself but to get a large grin on my face as I think about those pesky hens bumping their beaks on these fake eggs. I'm not the most organized person these days. I seem to be haphazardly going about each day hoping for the best.
The date of Cammie's baby shower is rapidly approaching and I barely began pinning shower ideas. So here is the invitation I managed to create from an online template. With spring comes the Broulim's case lot sale.
Our local grocery store Broulim's, has two case lot sales during the year. One in the fall and one in the spring. With everything that was going on last fall we decided not to do our usual food storage shopping. I think it was the first time in many, many years that we didn't bolster our food storage before winter. On the last day of their case lot sale and with shopping list in hand, Luke and I headed to Broulim's. Nothing like procrastinating till the last minute. Thanks goodness I took him with, it was a bunch of lifting. He lost patience once the third shopping cart was filled but persevered till the end. We filled four shopping carts with case lot items and then I had some produce shopping to do since Hannah and I are doing this clean eating thing. While I grabbed lean meats and vegies, Luke bought himself some sushi to eat as he relaxed upstairs in the diner section of the store. We both finished at the same time then headed to the check out. The Broulim's employee who had been helping us round up all the case lot items had all our carts rung up and ready to go. All we had to do was ring up the groceries that I had. What a great guy! It took three other Broulim's employees with Luke's help, to haul out and load all the items into the two cars we had brought. They had great attitudes and were extremely helpful. The day started off with Lynda Mom going in for surgery. There had been an emergency and the hospital bumped Lynda's surgery back a few hours. Jody took her to the hospital and stayed with her all day. The surgery seemed to take longer than anticipated, but she came out of it and the doctors said all went as planned. They were able to repair the valve in her heart rather than replace it. She was a perfect candidate for this type of surgery and we all felt good about her having it. The doctors think she should be able to have her hip replacement surgery a month after this heart surgery. She is in good health and once these two things are fixed she should be good to go another one hundred thousand miles :). ![]() Trish Barney dropped off a book for me to read. She is such a spit fire, I love her! Her and I did the Biggest Loser together at BYUI a few years ago. That is where we met. She has been following this 17 Day diet and has lost a good amount of weight. You eat all the vegetable and lean meat you want while limiting your fruit and dairy intake (the first 17 days) then you slowly add complex carbohydrates and dairy back in to your diet over the next couple 17 day cycles. I thought I would do it too. Dave Davis came over to tune and repair our piano. It has been moved several times but hasn't been tuned in years. Also two of the petals haven't been working either. I was in the family room talking to Trish while Dave was tuning the piano in the living room. It took him a while. Then I heard the door close and the stinker had left without having me pay him. I called Charlie (his wife) and told her what he had done. She said there was no charge. What sweeties. I have good friends. I have been trying to make cookies once a week for the family but when I went to make some today all my butter and margarine was frozen and I didn't have any butter Crisco left.
Last time I used butter and the cookies were really good. This time I decided to use margarine, less expensive but who knows what artificial toxins are in it. ![]() It wasn't long ago and the chickens began to lay eggs. At first it wasn't consistent. But now they are laying good and I'm loving the blue, green and dark brown eggs! They started pecking eggs because they were left in the nesting boxes too long before they were gathered. We placed fake brown eggs into their boxes. It has cured the hens from pecking the brown eggs, but they are still pecking some of the blue and green eggs. I need to run to the craft store and buy a few wooden eggs and paint them blue and green, then put them in the nesting boxes. That should fix their wagons. For whatever reason I have always called Steve's biological mom by her first name Arlyce, and his step mom I call "Lynda Mom".
Lynda Mom and I spent the day at EIRMC (Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center). They needed her there to do a bunch of preliminary stuff before her heart surgery on Friday. It was refreshing to spend the day in a position of support only, not having to hurry my way through my day like I usually have to. You know how slow hospitals are and EIRMC is no different but I didn't mind. Everyone we dealt with was friendly and kind as they poked and prodded her and explained everything that would be happening to her on surgery day. I also was able to slip away to visit my friend Pam Roberts who had had a heart attach the morning before. Dan (her hubby) called Steve that morning and asked him what he should do because Pam was experiencing pain in her chest and in her left arm. Steve told him to take her to EIRMC. Pam is doing well after her procedure, part of her heart is stunned because of the lack of blood flow but they are hoping it starts working again. Pam is only a few years older than I am. Her heart attach has been a wake up call for me. I wasn't parked far enough away to get the entire building in the picture but I tried.
This thing is monster big and doesn't seem to fit little Rexburg. I find it interesting how this new store has brought people from all over the the area to Rexburg. I used to go into Walmart and see familiar faces, but not now. This super store is drawing people from far, far away. |
