On my Bookworm page I mention that I am beginning to read Jonathan Cahn's book The Harbinger. Here is a Youtube video of him speaking at The Washington Man of Prayer event. I find it interesting.

This was the first time we all went to the 308 house without having to work our rumps off, it was nice. Cammie has the place looking all homey and Tristin is still doing little projects here and there, although the sprinkler system repair was far from a little job.
Here we all are, fat and sassy watching Meet the Mormons after eating hamburgers and Tristin's homemade fries, which I must say are divine. Making the fries involves a process of soaking, frying and re-frying them, wow, they are amazing! We all had a good time. Thanks Tristin and Cammie for inviting us into your home. Hannah and I were alone most the day Saturday. Steve worked a 24 at Life Flight and the boys were on their Prom day dates then came home briefly to get ready before dinner and the dance.
Hannah and I didn't accomplish much. We puttered around cleaning not expending a whole lot of energy. About five o'clock we decided we better pack the truck AGAIN for the Drive In. Because of the trouble they had Friday night, Teton Vu posted on their Facebook page that they would be opening their gates an hour earlier. We were not about to miss Avengers a second night in a row, so we were at the gates by 6:30. There were about seven cars in front of us in the prepaid line. We were definitely going to get in this time. Once in we got settled in the third row. Not the anticipated second row because one of the prepaid cars ahead of us couldn't pull up their ticket on their smartphone before a bunch of cars from the "pay there" line got in ahead of us. Hannah set up our gear while Cammie, Tristin and I ordered dinner from the Diner. Dinner consumed, it was now time to play Farkle while we waited for Avengers to start. If only Cammie had brought the dice! If you ask her, I was suppose to bring them, but I disagree. Time passed quickly and before we knew it the movie was starting. A very creative young man proposed to his girl friend by buying screen time before the movie. They were parked in front of us, it was cute to watch. Avengers then started and after some technical difficulty with our sound system we settled in for a double header. We made it home about one thirty in the morning and by two o'clock both boys were safely home from the Prom. An amazing night was had by all. Cammie, Hannah and I rode our bikes into town. Cammie had a mock interview at BYU-I and wanted us to come with her. We left in plenty of time as to not make her late, it was safer that way. I'm not the speediest bike rider. When we arrived on campus we located where the interview would take place then, wandered around the bookstore until it was time for her interview. Hannah found all kinds of Doctor Who and Harry Potter things to look at, Cammie liked the rings and figurines they sell there and I decided to buy the Meet the Mormon DVD since only Steve and I managed to get seen before it left the theater. Cammie then went to her interview while Hannah and I engaged in a foosball battle to pass the time. Hannah epically creamed me at first but I managed to make a comeback and won the last few games. Even though I continued to hit the ball backwards and score points for Hannah. Cammies mock interview was a good learning experience. The interviewer studied her resume and after a little while told her he was impressed with her qualifications and that he would definitely hire her. But he would give her a "C" on the resume. Cammie wasn't surprised. When she was a senior in high school she pulled a resume template off of the internet and has only added to it over the years. It definitely needed some revision. She has things on her resume like, Helicopter Landing Zone Safety Officer, HAZMAT Awareness certified, Incident Response to Terrorist Bombing Awareness certified (from New Mexico Tech), Incident Response to Suicide Bombing (from New Mexico tech), concealed weapon certified from Front Sight Firearms Training Institute. There was also more normal things like EMT and Certified Lifeguard Instructor. The interviewer was blown away with all training she has had for such a young person. When he asked her about it and how she got it she blamed it all on her dad. On our way home we stopped at New York Burrito and ate lunch. I don't know what it is, but whenever Cammie and I eat out together we get to laughing so hard that my stomach hurts and it gives me indigestion. Cammie just drools. No that wasn't a typo, she really drools, ask her about it some time. (Hehehe, Love ya little fooch!) We were on Main Street heading home, cruising past the store fronts, on the sidewalk, when Hannah goes to itch her shoulder and hits one of those tripod store signs. Thank goodness she didn't crash but it made a heck of a noise, in fact I thought she had hit one of the store windows when I heard it. Then about two blocks later her tire went off an uneven spot in the sidewalk, she overcorrected and crashed with ungraceful flair. When the dust settled she was face down on the sidewalk. It was such an epic crash that a car stopped to see if they could be of help. It was touch and go, but we managed to get her home without any more incidents. I got home in time only to leave right away again. I registered for a five hour Mittleider Gardening Seminar. Two and a half hours classroom instruction and two and a half hours out in the garden. It was a free gardening class presented by Jim Kennard. Supposedly you can grow 5-10x more food from your garden with less space, work, cost, water and no weeds. I was impressed with the Seminar, it was really informational, but there was way too much information to absorb, so I purchased The Mittleider Gardening Course book. Here is a link if you would like to check it out. http://growfood.com/shop/the-mittleider-gardening-course2/?ap_id=BestDeal Diana Johnson sponsored the gardening class and was blessed to have Jim build one of the 18" vertical planters at her house for the presentation. The planting medium in it is sand and sawdust, can you believe that! He also prepared the raised bed in the picture that is in front of the vertical planter. It was amazing how much time he spent on it, it isn't your run of the mill raised bed. I can't even begin to explain it, lets just say it was amazingly level.
The presentation went a little longer than expected so I missed the very end of it. I had to leave shortly after seven in order to pick Grant and Hannah up and then meet Cammie and Tristin at the Teton Vu Drive In Theater. We sat in line for two and a half hours, maybe a quarter of a mile from the Drive In. The Rexburg Police were even dispatched because the two long lines of cars that were waiting to get into the Drive-In, were blocking traffic. Half an hour into the first movie we were finally let into the Drive In. We were not happy "prepaid" customers! In fact we asked for a refund, which we had to go to another local theater to get. Well, they wouldn't give us a refund we had to take vouchers for Saturday night instead. Now we were really cranky! We had planned on eating at the Drive In's diner and now it was 10:00 when we finally received our vouchers. We all headed over to Nielsen's Frozen Custard for bottomless fries and concretes, but it was packed, not even one table to sit at. Our stomachs were not going to wait any longer so Little Caesars hot -n- ready pizza it was! What a night. |
