There is no sugar coating it, it has been a blow. Not only did Steve lose his ability to provide for our family but the family also lost many perks that came with his job.
The amazing insurance we had is gone, Steve's pension is gone, the kids lost the opportunity at free college (thank goodness Cammie was able to benefit from it), we lost our gym membership and the inexpensive phone plan we had. I'm not going to go into all the details but let's just say August has been a sucky month.
Although it has been tough and we have lost all these monetary things the saddest part is that Steve lost a job that he thoroughly enjoyed, a job where he touched lives.
He is a great teacher and the students love him. I can't tell you how many unsolicited letters and emails he has received from former students over the years, thanking him and telling him how he changed their lives.
It has been sad, hard and frustrating but we are pulling up our boot straps and moving on. Thank goodness there is always good with the bad. The good is that life continues to move on...
Family Vacation at the Cabin
Unbelievably we managed to stay at the cabin for six days! The days were spent 4 wheeling, rafting, bike riding, fishing, sight seeing and doing absolutely nothing.
We didn't take many pictures. The ones below were taken in West Yellowstone. If you ever vacation there be sure to go to Wild West Old Time Photo Shop. It doesn't take long and it's loads of fun. Us Holleys aren't the most photogenic people, it took the poor guy several shots to get even a few pictures that would be passable.

With everything that is going on in the valley, being at the cabin for a week was a blessed gift.
