Today was our first day back in the Rexburg 13th Ward. It was like coming home but I still felt displaced.
We have been in the 13th ward up until they plucked us out a few years ago and put us into the new Willowbrook ward.
Steve figured I was twenty years old when we moved into 13th Ward.
We had been married a year and we hadn't had any kids yet. In fact when I did have my first baby some of women in the ward were pregnant with their last baby and most of them had kids older than I was.
I Remember walking into Sacrament meeting for the first time. There were row after row of huge families.
Families with between four and eleven children. It was a sight to see! There were the Merrells, Giffords, Parsons, Thompsons, Hoglunds, Edwards and Steiners to name a few.
The good women of the ward took me under their wings and raised me. I was so young.
Kathy Parson has been a dear friend through it all. We love her and Leon so much. Before her grandchildren came she doted on my kids. they think of her as Grandma.
Even though she lives only a few houses down, I sadly only see her at church on Sundays, we are both so busy. She teasingly shushed me in RS meeting because I was sitting with old friends and we were giggling and talking.
I thought it would be nice to have a big turkey dinner with all the fixings. Hoping it would distract for the sadness of having to leave Willowbrook. Lynda came over and ate with us. Cammie had to work but dropped by after her shift. Poor Tristin had to much homework to do.
