It is hard to keep up a healthy living blog when you struggle to live a healthy life style, but I promise to do better...I hope.
Hannah and I have been doing the 17 Day Diet the last eight or nine days. It is pretty much a clean eating plan where for 17 days you eat all the vegetables and lean meat you want along with two pro-biotics and two fruits daily, fruits need to be eaten before 2:00 in the afternoon.
We get up in the morning and have half of a lemon squeezed into eight ounces of water.
For breakfast we eat one of our fruits with our eggs. This morning I opted for a salsa cheese omelet and Cuties.

Remember I'm no food photographer and yes I do know my omelet is browned too much, but you get the idea.
We try to eat our second fruit in the form of a shake that is chucked full of spinach. Now don't get all grossed out. It is a pretty good shake. Here is how we do it.
First you pack a bunch of spinach in your bullet cup. I don't measure, I just shove a bunch in the glass.

Then add maybe an inch of water to the bottom of the cup.
Now pulse that baby enough times that the spinach is unrecognizable.
You want it to resemble the water in the Island Park Reservoir at the end of the season, think algae filled water.
Not appetizing but you know what I mean don't you.

This is where I deviate from my friend Trish's shakes. She puts cottage cheese in hers but I haven't been able to bring myself to do that yet. I can't get past the thought that I am drinking cottage cheese.
You should use plain yogurt but I can't seem to do that either, so we use light vanilla flavored Greek yogurt. It is easier to use the individual serving sized Greek yogurts but the more cost effective way is to buy it in the tubs.

We ran out of frozen mixed berries. Both Hannah and I like the shakes best made with those. Until we get to Sam's Club she is using frozen strawberries and I am using frozen blueberries.
Toss the blueberries in to the spinach mixture, add the Stevia or Truvia and 1/2 cup yogurt. Blend well.

It doesn't look appetizing but it tastes good. Hannah was skeptical at first but now she is converted.
Here are a few flavor variations you might want to try:

There are so many yogurt flavors out there and different varieties of fruit.
Get crazy with the combinations, walk on the wild side. You can tell I don't walk on the wild side often when you look at my "creative" combinations above.
